The name is derived from the German "quarz" of uncertain origin. It was called "krystallos" by the Greeks, but this later became the generic term for crystal. |
Additional Information |
A native cut stone with "creative" shape. It has a step cut bottom with a nicely cut top (not step cut). The stone has nice color but the last two pavillion facets are below critical angle so the stone suffers from a small "fish-eye" in the center. Because of its dark color, and unusual shape, it is not too noticeable. |
