Agate (achates) was named from the river Achates, now the Drillo, in Sicily, where the stone was first identified. It is cryptocrystalline quartz (micro crystals) usually with a banded pattern (although not always). |
Additional Information |
Bull canyon is found in Arizona. It is a moss - tube agate with nice color and structure. It is similar to much of the horse canyon agate, with the moss forming kind of spiderweb like patterns. The moss comes in tan, red and some green colors. The background agate is translucent and there are some fortifications.
