The name is derived from the German "quarz" of uncertain origin. It was called "krystallos" by the Greeks, but this later became the generic term for crystal. |

This is a barion design. (The barion pavillion was pioneered by Basil Watermeyer. ) It is a way to cut non-round stones and make them more brilliant. It usually combines a step cut top with a "barion" bottom. This is a nice color stone with good light return cut by the author. Design from Facet Design Vol.7 9.086 barion. |
